This is THE essential list. I agree about not skipping breakfast, getting plenty of protein, and not touching your face (hard to avoid but necessary!).
So many great tips! I always pack a personal hygiene case, along with my essential oils, a couple crystals, my dragon's blood, salt and coconut oil for oil pulling and salt swishing in the morning, and my immune booster supplements too! (Yes I'm aware I'm a bit OTT!)
EXCELLENT advice! Two examples from my travels I'll share to reinforce your points: #1 - face masks! On a recent flight to Spain, my husband and I sat next to each other, behind a family that coughed the entire time (with no masks - they were so obnoxious and gross). I wore a mask and my husband didn't. He got the flu and I didn't. That's all I'm saying. Re: stretching and moving - SO important. I made the mistake of not doing enough of that on an overseas trip over a decade ago, and my hip is not the same still. This is really great advice!
Thank you for the comment! That flight situation with coughers and sneezers is so common, and every time I say that I will get whatever they have - and almost always I do! I think airlines should provide some rules for the sick people (if you have to travel, please wear a mask). And stretching - yes, I know what you mean, I still have problems from several very long bus rides.
Yeah, seriously. I get it - if you're sick you still need to get where you're going, especially if you're going home. But cover your face!! It was a mother with two kids, and NONE of them even coughed into their elbow - the mom was just spewing her stuff everywhere. I was never so grateful for my KN95, and my husband learned his lesson lol.
Excellent article Gabi! Health is very important for me, but it’s true that I put it ‘aside’ while traveling. You draw my attention to this issue, and from now on I will definitely make sure to be mindful about it. Thanks for sharing very important advice!!
This is such a helpful guide - so many practical tips! I especially love the reminder about hydration and packing a hygiene kit; those little things can make a huge difference while traveling. It’s so easy to overlook sleep and mental health too, but they’re just as important as staying physically healthy. Definitely bookmarking this for my next trip! ✈️✨
these travel tips are great not only for traveling abroad, but even locally and also really good tips for daily activities.
I have one question. I know that when people fly, they tell me that the airlines only allow so many ounces of fluid in a container and I think it's because I think it may be something to make bombs or something. I don't know what the reason is but the only I think it might be 4 ounces or something like that is that the same over in your neck of the woods?
water, you can buy it or drink tap water once you pass the security control. And that rule only applies to your cabin luggage, not the checked-in bags.
You all are much more lenient than it is in America. They are very strict with what you can carry on board as far as liquids and also in luggage at least that's what I hear. I haven't flown in so many years.
I think it's similar - liquids in Europe need to be packed in max 100ml containers, total 1 liter. Water bottle empty through security control and then you fill it, or buy some water.
100 ML equals about 4 ounces. I just looked up the new regulations so we’re allowed to have up to 1 quart which is 0.946 L approximately, so yeah I guess it is the same 🤔
Yes, I realize you're writing for free, Gabi, but think about it. What type of business will benefit from your writing skill, your ability to engage, your travel?
When a thought like this comes to mind, I must voice it.

Ok, these are a great addition 🙂
What is dragon's blood for?
Quickly healing open wounds!
Thanks!
I like this! It seems when travel all good habits can fall by wayside.
Literally! Thanks for commenting!
Amazing advice. Hadn’t thought of boosting my immunity prior to travel—golden!
Thank you for the comment! I would recommend before AND after 🙂 And for the 'during' - I always have vitC and take larger doses, just in case.
Love that you added stress management to this list, it’s an often forgotten piece of the puzzle!
It's necessary, travel can get a bit too much if you organize everything by yourself.
Very good tips from a well-seasoned traveller! Everyone should have this list handy.
Thank you!
great advice -- and be sure to properly dispose of those Hand sanitizer bottles, wipes, tissues, disinfecting wipes and facemasks
Of course! Thanks for the comment!

I’m completely with you on that! :) And I’m sorry for the husband…
The most important thing is to understand stress. The impact it has on our immune system is huge.

Thank you very much! I always have that kit ready and just update it a bit before a trip.
very nice! are you currently traveling or where are you based? :)
No, I'm currently on the home ground :) I travel only when I can, for holidays and weekends, or if it's work-related. I'm based in Croatia.
ah very cool!
have you ever visited Croatia? :)
yes! done a road trip with my camper van last year through it, was great!
glad to hear that!
Nice and comprehensive list!

Yes, a liter here. But no drinking

I'm with you, Gabi! Imagine the germs at a poker tournament and as humans, we generally touch our face 23 times an hour. Like, ugh!!
Your and my travel bags are almost identical. However, I never thought of charcoal tablets. Great idea.
I'm a probiotic, Emergen-C, and Muscle Milk advocate, and have thought of reaching out to the latter two for sponsorship into tournaments.
Yes, when you touch everything, you really need to have your hands clean. If you can get the sponsorship, that's great :)
Let's vision that together! What sponsors might you have?
I'm still writing for free, no sponsors here :-)

Yes, I will plan ways to monetize in a few months, I have some ideas.
All great advice! 😊
Thanks! :)
